Fully ripe grapes are harvested and pressed immediately so as not to alter their aromatic characteristics. Lengthy maceration on the lees gives the famous Veronese white wine the typical expressivity it is known for around the world. It is light straw-yellow in colour, almost icy-white around the rim, while the fragrant aroma evokes yellow fruit, especially clingstone peach and yellow Delicious apple, with white spices in the background and feminine face powder scents.
The palate is firm, savoury in the offing and dry to follow, at which point it takes on elegance and expressive force. The finale is enlivened by a breath of freshness, counterpoised by a fine vein of alcohol.
A generous wine, it goes well with seafood hors d’oeuvres, light soups, rice and risotto dishes, and medium-matured cheeses.
