Merlot Friuli Doc
The grapes are pressed and destemmed straight after the harvest, and immediately begin the traditional process of fermentation and maceration that lasts for a few days to ensure good extraction. At the end of the malolactic process, part of the wine refines in Slavonian oak barrels, part in large neutral containers. The resulting Merlot is intense and ruby red in colour interwoven with flickers of light, and has a dense aroma of ripe red fruit and a delicate cherry-candy finish. The first sip immediately reveals its character, displaying a firm grip contrasting with a velvety hand, and an intriguing bitter vein.
This wine can easily accompany an entire meal, but goes particularly well with Italian pasta-with-beans, meat kebabs and festive barbecued meats.
